Prof. Shahar Kol
Prof. Shahar Kol graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel. He earned his MD (Cum Laude) in 1983, interned at the Rambam Medical Center, Haifa, Israel, where he continued his residency in obstetrics and gynaecology. After successfully completing the requirements of the Israeli Board of Medical Sciences, he was certified as a specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology. Following his certification, Prof. Kol obtained a position as a fellow in reproductive endocrinology at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Baltimore School of Medicine, University of Maryland, Baltimore, MD. For two years he worked under the mentorship of Professor Eli Y Adashi carrying out a significant amount of high quality scientific work, part of which has been published in high-impact scientific journals. He also won the prestigious ‘Merck Senior Fellow’ award from the Endocrine Society in 1994. Upon completion of his fellowship, Prof. Kol returned to the Rambam Medical Center as an attending physician in the IVF unit, and later as the Director of the IVF unit. Currently, Prof. Kol is the Director of the IVF unit at Elisha Hospital, Haifa, the largest IVF unit in Northern Israel. He has authored or co-authored numerous publications in the field of reproductive endocrinology.
