Mary Carmen Gasco-Buisson
Mary Carmen (MC) is currently Managing Director at P&G Ventures and an Executive on Loan at the M13 Venture Firm in Santa Monica, California. She leads the breakthrough partnership between M13 and Procter & Gamble to incubate new digitally-native brands, as well as a portfolio of new consumer health start-ups inside P&G Ventures, Procter & Gamble’s new brand creation arm.
MC graduated from Cornell University with a BS in Chemical Engineering and completed an MBA at the Williams College of Business. In her over 20 years at P&G, Mary Carmen has worked in Cincinnati, Baltimore, Los Angeles, and Switzerland and has led operations, strategy, marketing, end-to-end product innovation and design, business development, licensing, and market roll-out for a range of global $1Bn+ retail brands, as well as launching DTC start-ups. Her experience spans luxury beauty and FMCG fragrances, skin care, cosmetics, hair care, feminine care, consumer health, personal cleansing, and food.
MC is a regular speaker at conferences like SxSW, Programmatic IO, as well as Cornell University, the Wharton School of Business, and Xavier University’s MBA School. She is also an Advisory Board member for the Management & Entrepreneurship department at the Williams College of Business and a founding Board member of the Sofia Foundation for Children’s Safety, a non-profit dedicated to preventing children’s deaths from vehicular heatstroke. MC is also passionate about entrepreneurship, founded Grace & Wilde, a women’s intimate apparel brand based in Switzerland, and advises several other start-ups in the US and Europe.
Mary Carmen has been married to Gerard Buisson for 15 years, has 3 step-children ages 20-25 (Antoine, Emilie and Charlotte), and a 3-year old daughter (Ana-Isabelle). Mary Carmen and Gerard are avid travelers and have visited over 40 countries, many with their children.
