Dr. Mattan Levi
Dr. Mattan Levi, Ph.D. is the Translational Research Director at QART Medical.
In the past four years Dr. Levi served as a consultant and visiting scholar in the laboratory of Prof. Natan Tzvi Shaked at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Tel Aviv University, taking part in developing a selection criteria of sperm cells imaged by interference phase microscopy as part of Momentum project sponsored by Ramot. The successful project led to the establishment of QART Medical Ltd., aiming to increase the success rates of fertility treatments by revolutionary technologies for sperm imaging, analysis and selection.
Dr. Levi received his B.Sc. (magna cum laude), M.Sc. (summa cum laude) and Ph.D. in Cell and Developmental Biology and continued to post-doctorate at the laboratory of Prof. Ruth Shalgi, Tel Aviv University, Israel. Two decades of his research at the fields of reproductive and cancer biology included teaching embryology, histology and molecular Imaging at Tel Aviv University, two-year fellowship at the laboratory of Prof. Bernard Maro, Pierre et Marie Curie University in France, foundation and management of oncology research laboratory at Rabin Medical Center in Israel, publication of 30 peer-reviewed scientific articles, chapters in textbooks and invited reviews and receiving prestigious international awards.
Dr. Levi is an expert clinical embryologist and the founder and director of the medical andrology laboratory at Herzeliya Medical Center in Israel.
