Dr. Amnon Buxboim
Dr. Amnon Buxboim joined the Hebrew University in September 2013, with a tenure track position at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, the Alexander Grass Center for Bioengineering and The Department of Cell and Developmental Biology. He is the engineering officer of the BioDESIGN-ISRAEL innovation program. Dr. Buxboim completed his B.Sc. in physics and M.Sc. in theoretical solid state physics at the Hebrew University and his Ph.D. at the Weizmann Institute where he developed and studied cell-free gene expression on a chip. Dr. Buxboim made his scientific transition working on stem cell mechanobiology during his postdoctoral research at the University of Pennsylvania, PA USA. His current research interests involve studying the biophysical aspects of cell-fate decision-making during stem cell differentiation, embryo development and inflammation. Dr. Buxboim The Buxboim lab includes computer science, biology and engineering students that employ machine learning and develop experimental devices for their interdisciplinary research.
